Live Sacred Music, Compassionate Presence & Spiritual Support

No one should have to face life's final transition alone.  Live sacred music, compassionate presence, and non-denominational spiritual support throughout the Greater Los Angeles area.

Passage visits are offered as a donation-based service. No one is turned away for lack of funds.

Purpose

The Passage Mission offers live sacred music, compassionate presence, and non-denominational spiritual support for individuals approaching the end of life throughout the Greater Los Angeles area. We accompany people in hospitals, hospice settings, nursing homes, and private residences, creating moments of peace, dignity, beauty, and human connection through music, presence, and prayer when welcomed.

Whether someone is seeking a quiet companion, comforting music, or a peaceful presence for a loved one, our mission is to serve with humility, respect, and compassion.

Why Passage Exists

The final chapter of life is one of the most meaningful moments we experience as human beings. Yet many individuals and families face it feeling overwhelmed, uncertain, or alone.

Passage exists to offer compassionate presence, live bedside music, and gentle spiritual support that honors every person's own journey. We do not arrive to preach or persuade. We simply come to accompany, to listen, and to create an atmosphere where peace, love, gratitude, and connection can naturally arise.

We believe that music has a unique ability to bring peace, awaken cherished memories, deepen human connection, and offer comfort when words are no longer enough.

Our volunteers serve people of every background, belief, and tradition — including those with no religious affiliation — because compassion belongs to everyone.

02

Who We Serve

Passage serves individuals and families throughout the Greater Los Angeles area, including those receiving hospice services, individuals in hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living communities, private residences, and home hospice.

We also support caregivers, veterans, children, family members, and anyone accompanying a loved one during life's final transition.

We are honored to work alongside families, hospice organizations, hospitals, and healthcare professionals who wish to offer an additional source of comfort through live sacred music, compassionate presence, and spiritual support.

03

Our Approach

Passage is intentionally non-denominational. We do not represent one religious tradition over another, nor do we seek to convert, persuade, or impose beliefs.

Instead, we meet each individual exactly where they are. Some families invite prayer, others prefer silence, music, reflection, conversation, or simply the comfort of another caring human presence. Our role is to honor each person's wishes while creating a peaceful environment that supports dignity, comfort, and meaningful connection during life's final transition.

When requested, we are honored to respectfully support the individual's own spiritual traditions through prayer or the reading of meaningful writings provided by the family.

04

Offered as an Act of Service

The Passage Mission is offered without charge as an act of service.

Donations are welcomed to help sustain and expand this ministry, but they are never expected. No individual or family will ever be turned away because of financial circumstances.

05

Request a Passage Visit

Families, caregivers, hospitals, hospice organizations, and healthcare professionals may request a Passage visit through our online form, by telephone, or by email.

Whether you are planning ahead or facing an immediate need, we will do our best to respond with compassion, understanding, and respect.

06

Our Vision

We envision a future where no one has to face life's final transition alone.

Beginning in the Greater Los Angeles area, we hope to build a network of trained volunteers, musicians, and compassionate companions who can serve hospitals, hospice organizations, nursing homes, private residences, and families with humility, respect, and love.

As the Passage Mission grows, we aspire to establish partnerships with healthcare organizations, develop end-of-life companion training, and create a model that can inspire similar missions throughout the country and, one day, around the world.

A Message from the Founder

Mathieu, founder of Passage
Mathieu

For me, accompanying someone during the final moments of life is one of the deepest acts of service a human being can offer.

It is a profound privilege to be present during this sacred transition. In those moments, I feel closest to God — not through words or certainty, but through compassion, silence, music, and love.

My hope is that every person we serve experiences peace, that every family feels supported, and that together we honor a life with gratitude, dignity, and beauty. Each passage reminds us of the preciousness of our own lives, and serving others in this way has become one of the greatest gifts of mine.
